About Joey
Born and raised in Southern California, Joey Kaufman is currently a junior at St. Francis High School. Kaufman, 17, has wanted to be involved in the sports world since he was first introduced to sports as a young child. His passion for athletics began when he would read the Los Angeles Times everyday, memorizing standings and statistics for baseball, basketball, and football. From the breakfast table to the school classroom and to the court, it always seemed as if he was in sports discussions with either friends or family. This blog, enables Joey to continue pursuing his dream of one day becoming one of the sports world's most influential voices.

About this blog
West Coast Bias was started in the Fall of 2007 in order for Joey to promote West Coast sports while fighting ESPN's East Coast Bias. "The whole idea for WCB was to launch a sports blog where you could avoid all of the senseless New York and Boston sports talk. It gets tiring to hear about Roger Clemens's retirement and Alex Rodriguez's contract for the millionth time"
